About Teri Merrill
BIOGRAPHY-TERI MERRILL
I was born in Rochester, New York. My family left when I was very young and we moved to my beloved Arizona Desert. I was raised in Phoenix, but spent my summers in upstate New York. As a child, I would watch other children setting up lemonade stands. I however, remember setting up an artr gallery stand, with all my colored pictures. Art was an early interest. As life would have it, I attended schools, fell in love, married and had a family which proceeded to occupy most of my time. My love of art was set on the back burner. In the mid 1990's, my children had been raised and I was selling Real Estate. I was at this time, involved in a life-changing automobile accident, no fault of my own. This unfortunate event afforded me with much more free time than I had been accustmed to in many years. Re-enter, my love of art. I began to start playing in the paint, and taking some classes from local art instructors. I continued to paint and draw and realized that this was playing a very important role in the recovery from my head-on collision. Since then, I have continued painting and became active when we moved from North-Eastern Arizona to North-Western Arizona in the Kingman Art Alliance, I served in many positions and enjoyed the companionship of many fellow artists. I have enjoyed entering many art shows, including the local Cancer Fair Show which I still attend and participate in each year. I have been commissioned to do paintings for many people, and have also had the pleasure of producing the book cover for author Don Hill on his book, Israel and the Body of Christ. I have also had the extreme privilege of being involved with Kingman Center for the Arts (KCA) and volunteer my time on a regular basis as the gallery located in Kingman, Arizona. I exhibit art online at Fine Art America (https://teri-merrill.pixels.com) and I have an active facebook account at www.facebook.com/artbyteri. I have recently become a member of the Mohave Artist and Craftsman Guild. I am grateful that my love of art has continued to play an important role in my life today and I strive to be the best I can be, while never taking myself to seriously. My latest adventure is joining fellow local artists in reaching out to do more to enrich the art community.
